𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 (aside from our 91 Regional Film Leaders in the RFN group); It was our first Regional representation on the September 27th Senate Hearing in these ongoing Senate Hearings and/or consultations on the following proposed laws which has been ongoing since August 29th: (1) Eddie Garcia Law, and (2) Media Workers' Welfare Act Similar to the other collective Stakeholders' meetings and consultations (e.g. Actors, Line Producers & Managers, Theatre Actors, Directors, Producers, et al.) with their internal members, thus their collective Positions on the subject matter -- we propose that we conduct the same for our collective representation for the future hearing/s too. We have the upcoming month (October) to absorb and work through all this, as the next hearing will be on November 2023 (date TBC). With our 16 other regions (aside from NCR) and trans/inter-regional filmmakers across the country and/or the world, it will be such a groundwork, but just like how organized our beloved Cinema Rehiyon festivals are, it is evidently doable. As mentioned in the September 27th Senate Hearing: Let us be united for this cause, as for this is for our common good as Audio-Visual/Media Workers in the Philippines at-large. If you have watched the full Senate hearing/s and/or intimately familiar with the proposed laws (based on publicly accessible information), and if you have (legal) thoughts, opinions, and/or suggestions on this, please let us know! Respectfully, Andrei Karoly Hernandez ("Amaya Han")
